Terms of use
Last updated 6 September 2026
Missing Pair helps people reunite the halves of pairs and sets. These terms are between you and [legal entity name]. Using the site means you accept them.
You must be 18 or older
This service is for adults. If you are under 18, you may not use it.
Nothing here is for sale
Items on Missing Pair have no price and are not sold. There is no payment system, no bidding, and no commission. Asking someone to pay for an item, or offering to pay for one, is not allowed and can get an account removed.
Getting an item from one person to another does cost something, and that cost falls on whoever is receiving it. You choose how: send a prepaid label, share an address, or meet in person if you are near enough. Any money involved is between the two of you, and never passes through us.
What you post
Only post something you actually have. Photographs must be of the item itself. Do not post anything that is not yours to give away, and do not use a listing to hand out unrelated free goods.
You keep ownership of your photographs and words. By posting them, you let us show them on the site so the matching can work.
Matching is a suggestion, not a finding
We compare what people record and show you what might fit, with the reasons and the uncertainties. We do not verify that two objects belong together, and we do not authenticate anything. That judgement is yours. A confidence label is our best reading of the details, not a guarantee.
Handoffs are between people
When someone accepts a request, the arrangement is theirs and yours. We are not a party to it. We cannot compel anyone to send anything, and we do not hold, inspect, insure, or transport items. If something is lost, damaged, or never sent, we can record what happened and act on an account, but we cannot make anyone whole.
If you meet in person
Meeting is an option because sometimes it is the sensible one. It is also entirely your decision and your risk. Meet somewhere public, during the day, and tell someone where you are going. We do not vet members, verify identities, or supervise meetings.
Found items
Posting something you found does not make it yours. A finder holds an item; they do not own it. When someone claims a found item, the finder decides whether the claim convinces them. We do not adjudicate ownership and cannot resolve a dispute about who something belongs to.
Behaviour
Do not harass anyone, do not spam, and do not use the messages for anything other than the item and its handoff. Repeatedly agreeing to send things and then not sending them can get an account limited or suspended.
We may remove a listing or restrict an account when something breaks these terms. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will say why.
The service comes as it is
We run this carefully but we cannot promise it will always be available, that matching will find what you are hoping for, or that anyone will agree to send you anything. To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided as it is, and [legal entity name] is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [state], United States, and any dispute belongs in the courts of [county and state].
